Today’s Breast Cancer Awareness charity event was truly something special. Carmelia — a wonderful mum with the biggest heart — put so much love and determination into organising this day, and it showed in every corner of the room. I felt genuinely honoured to be the photographer capturing it all.
I set up a soft pink backdrop, glowing and inviting, ready for anyone who wanted a photo to mark the occasion. I even made some props for people to hold, little touches that brought smiles and added a fun, heartfelt nod to the charity.
The cakes… absolutely lush. All baked by Carmelia herself, and they vanished almost instantly. People gathered with slices of cake and cups of tea, chatting, laughing, and soaking up the cosy atmosphere. There were games, a raffle, and brilliant prizes donated by generous local businesses — the whole day felt full of kindness and community.
This charity is incredibly close to my heart. I lost my best friend this year to this horrible disease, and events like this mean more to me than I can ever put into words. Please, check yourself regularly, and visit www.breastcancernow.org for tips, support, ways to donate, or even how to host your own event. Awareness saves lives.
By the end of the day, Carmelia raised £831.15 — an amazing achievement and such a beautiful, successful event.
