I went along to World Zombie Day in London today, and honestly… it was gloriously chaotic in the best possible way.
The moment I arrived, the streets were already filling with every kind of undead imaginable — rotting brides, Victorian ghosts, blood‑splattered surgeons, and even a zombie dog or two trotting proudly beside their owners. Entire families came dressed as matching hordes, and some people were so committed they staggered through the walk in full character, dragging their limbs and groaning at passers‑by.
I was in my element, camera in hand, snapping away as the procession wound through London. The organisers did an incredible job guiding everyone safely through the route, keeping the vibe fun, friendly, and totally welcoming. It’s open to all ages, and the atmosphere felt like a big spooky community day out — but with a brilliant charity purpose behind it.
Some of the costumes were next‑level horrifying… the kind that make you do a double‑take before remembering it’s all makeup. Fake wounds, prosthetics, dripping blood, torn clothing — people really went all out.
